Ex-Nokian Tyres plant in Leningrad Region to be relaunched in Q2

ST.PETERSBURG, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- The former Nokian Tyres plant in the Leningrad Region plans to restart production in April–June 2023, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said on Tuesday.

"Tough issues are yet to be solved with our largest industrial company Nokian Tyres. As you know, the company has changed the owner, now it is a Russian owner, rather than a Finnish one,” Drozdenko said.

“But the launch of the facility is a difficult task. Of course, it is very important for us that the facility starts operating at least at the design capacity in the second quarter of the next year."

Finland's tire producer Nokian Tyres signed a deal to sell its Russian assets to Tatneft for about 400 million euros without debt on October 28.
